Escambia County Arrest, Jail & Court Records Guide
Find Escambia County Arrests, Jail Bookings, Bonds and Criminal Court Cases
Escambia County arrest information is divided among several official systems. Escambia County Corrections maintains the live jail lookup and detention services, the Sheriff maintains Sheriff-created arrest and offense reports, Pensacola Police maintains records created inside its jurisdiction, and the Clerk of the Circuit Court maintains the criminal case that shows what was formally filed and how the case progressed.
This guide connects those systems so you can search current and prior booking periods, decode booking numbers and holds, verify bond information, identify the arresting agency, request the underlying report, search the court case and obtain statewide Florida criminal-history information when a county-only lookup is not enough.

Four Escambia County Records That People Commonly Confuse
A booking record is not a conviction record. Jail charges describe the allegations and custody event available to Corrections. The Clerk case is the better source for formal filings, court activity and disposition.
Arrest report
Describes the law-enforcement event and belongs to the agency that created the report.
Jail booking
Shows available booking, custody, charges, holds and bond information.
Bond / release
Shows release conditions or restrictions connected to custody and court action.
Criminal case
Shows what prosecutors and the court formally filed and how the case progressed.
Disposition
Shows dismissal, plea, judgment, acquittal, sentencing or another legal outcome.
Presumption of innocence: Arrest, booking, bond and charge information do not establish guilt. Charges can be declined, amended, dismissed or resolved without conviction.

Unusual local structure: Escambia County government, not the Sheriff’s Office, operates the county jail. The Board of County Commissioners assumed jail operations from the Sheriff on October 1, 2013.
Pensacola city arrest: Pensacola Police does not operate its own jail. People charged with crimes by PPD are taken to the Escambia County Jail, while the underlying Pensacola Police report remains a City police record.
Choose Your Escambia County Arrest-Record Task

How to Search Escambia County Arrests and Jail Bookings
The county’s live inmate lookup is more flexible than a simple current-inmate list. It allows searches by name as well as booking and release date ranges, which can help separate current custody from a prior booking.
Start with the last name.
Enter the legal surname first. Add the first or middle name only when the result set is too broad.
Use booking dates for an arrest-period search.
Enter a Begin Booking Date and End Booking Date when you know approximately when the arrest or intake occurred.
Use release dates for an older custody episode.
The portal also provides Begin Release Date and End Release Date fields.
Open every plausible matching result.
Compare age on booking date, booking number, MNI number, booking date and available identifying information.
Expand every charge.
One booking can contain multiple charges with different court case numbers, statutes and bonds.
Check holds separately.
A hold can explain why a person remains in custody even when an individual charge appears to have a monetary bond.
Copy the court case number.
Use the case number in the Clerk search to see formal case activity and disposition.
Save a dated copy when needed.
Custody and bond information can change after judicial action, payment, transfer or release.
Best search sequence: Last name → first name → booking-date range → open the matching booking → copy booking number, MNI and court case number → continue to the Clerk.
What Escambia County JAIL View Fields Mean
Status
Indicates whether the result currently shows the person as in jail or reflects another available custody status.
Booking No.
Identifies a particular intake into the Escambia County correctional system.
MNI No.
The master-name identifier helps distinguish a person across records in the local justice system.
Booking Date
Date and time the jail intake was recorded. It may differ from the alleged offense date.
Age on Booking Date
Useful for separating same-name results, but should be combined with other identifiers.
Bond Amount
Shows available bond information. It can change and should not be treated as a guaranteed release amount.
Holds
Can identify another county, agency, immigration authority or other reason affecting release.
Statute
Florida statute or other legal code associated with the listed allegation.
Court Case Number
The strongest bridge from the jail result to the Clerk’s criminal court file when a court case has been assigned.
Arresting Agency
Identifies the agency connected to the listed arrest or charge and helps route report requests.
Degree / Level
Classification information attached to the charge. Read the actual court filing before drawing conclusions.
Charge Bond
Individual charges may display separate bond entries, while overall release may still depend on other charges or holds.
“No bond” and “$0.00” require context. Do not assume either display means the same thing in every case. A judge, hold, warrant, probation matter or another charge can affect release. Confirm time-sensitive questions with the jail or court.
Six Details to Match Before Assuming an Arrest Record Belongs to Someone
Full name
Include middle-name clues.
Age
Compare age on booking date.
Booking date
Match the relevant incident period.
Booking number
Distinguish one custody event.
MNI number
Helps separate similar names.
Court case
Verify the corresponding court file.
A matching name alone is not enough. Do not publish accusations or make employment, housing, financial, safety or legal decisions merely because a similar name appears in an arrest or booking search.
No Escambia County Arrest Result? Try These Checks Before Assuming Nothing Exists
Simplify the name
Search surname only, remove punctuation and try hyphenated or former-name variations.
Expand the date range
An arrest late at night and a booking after midnight can appear on different calendar dates.
Check the release fields
A person may already have been released and no longer be easiest to locate through a current-status query.
Identify the arresting jurisdiction
A neighboring county, state or federal arrest will not necessarily appear as an Escambia booking.
Search the court case
An older criminal case may remain searchable even when the associated jail episode is no longer obvious.
Use FDLE for statewide scope
A county lookup is not a substitute for a Florida criminal-history search.
Recently arrested? Intake, identity verification, court assignment and database updates take time. For urgent custody questions, call the Detention Division at
850-436-9830.
Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Records
How to Request an Escambia Sheriff Arrest or Incident Report
ECSO Criminal Records states that it receives and maintains arrest reports, booking prints, offense reports, miscellaneous offense paperwork and investigative case files. It also accepts requests for local criminal-history background checks, offense reports, arrest reports and incident reports.
BOOKING → REPORT
REPORT → COURT
Confirm that ECSO created the record.
The jail can hold people arrested by several agencies. The agency listed in the booking or report information is the best starting point.
Collect the identifiers first.
Prepare the arrested person’s name, arrest date, ECSO case or offense number, booking number and incident location when known.
Request the specific documents needed.
Ask separately for the arrest report, offense report, incident report, mugshot or other releasable material rather than requesting every document tied to a name.
Use Public Records for broader material.
ECSO directs non-routine requests outside ordinary offense, arrest, mugshot and CAD reports to its Public Records Department.
Review any fee estimate before processing.
ECSO states that duplication and research fees are assessed based on pages and personnel time required.

Booking charge
The allegation shown by the jail at intake.
Do not stop here.
Case filed
The court file identifies the criminal case and filed counts.
Confirm the case number.
Docket activity

Otherwise search by defendant name.
Enter the last name and then first name. Use case type to narrow the results if necessary.
Compare the court case with JAIL View.
Match the court case number, defendant name, charge type and relevant dates.
Review formal charges.

Read docket entries in date order.
Look for arraignment, motions, continuances, bond changes, plea activity, judgment and sentencing.
Identify the legal outcome.
Do not treat “closed” as a synonym for “convicted.” Locate the document or docket event that explains how the case ended.
Order an official copy when necessary.
Use the Clerk Public Records Center when a certified disposition or court document is required.
Public access: The Clerk states that general public court-record access is available without registration. Enhanced access for certain authorized roles may require registration.

When to Use an FDLE Florida Criminal History Search
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is the central repository for Florida criminal-history information. Use FDLE when the question is broader than one Escambia County arrest, one Sheriff’s report or one local court case.
- Current published public-search fee: $24.
- A Florida criminal-history search is broader than Escambia County JAIL View.
- A name-based search can still create identity-match problems.
- Fingerprint-based processes may be required for employment, licensing or another formal purpose.
- Your own record can also be reviewed through FDLE’s Personal Review process.
Formal background-check warning: A self-run county or FDLE public search may not satisfy the fingerprint, certification or statutory requirements of an employer, licensing board, immigration authority or other requesting organization.
Florida sealing and expungement
How an Escambia County Arrest Record May Be Sealed or Expunged
A dismissed charge does not automatically erase the underlying Florida criminal-history record. Court-ordered sealing or expungement generally begins by applying to FDLE for a Certificate of Eligibility.
Collect records
Obtain the arrest report, court case information and certified disposition before the record receives relief.
Apply to FDLE
Submit the Certificate of Eligibility application with the required supporting material.
File in court
A Certificate of Eligibility does not itself seal or expunge the record. A petition must be filed in the proper court.
Obtain court order
Relief occurs only after the court grants the petition and the appropriate agencies receive the order.
FDLE Certificate of Eligibility packet
- Completed application
- Full name and demographic details
- Arresting agency
- Date of arrest
- Charge information
- Certified court disposition
- Fingerprint form/card
- Prosecutor certification for applicable expunction applications
- Probation or diversion-completion proof when applicable
- $75 nonrefundable FDLE processing payment
Current FDLE timing: FDLE says Certificate of Eligibility processing is typically about 12 weeks after a complete application packet is received and that applications are not expedited.
Eligibility is not guaranteed: A Certificate of Eligibility only establishes statutory eligibility to petition. The court retains discretion, and certain convictions, prior relief and offense categories can make a record ineligible.

Escambia County FL Arrest Records FAQs
1. How do I search Escambia County arrest records online?
Start with the official Escambia County JAIL View. You can search by last, first or middle name and can also use booking-date and release-date ranges. Open the matching booking and then use the listed court case number to continue to the Escambia County Clerk court-record search.
2. Can I search old Escambia County jail bookings by date?
Yes. Escambia County’s inmate lookup provides Begin Booking Date, End Booking Date, Begin Release Date and End Release Date fields in addition to name searching. These date filters can help locate a prior custody episode rather than only a current inmate.
3. What information is shown in the Escambia County inmate lookup?
Available results can include status, booking number, MNI number, booking date, age on booking date, bond amount, holds, statutes, court case numbers, arresting agency, charge description, degree, level and charge-specific bond information.
4. Does an Escambia County booking record mean the person was convicted?
No. A booking or charge records an arrest and custody event, not a final finding of guilt. Search the Escambia County Clerk criminal case to determine whether charges were formally filed and whether the case ended through dismissal, plea, judgment, acquittal or another disposition.
5. How do I get an Escambia County Sheriff arrest report?
ECSO Criminal Records accepts requests for arrest reports, offense reports, incident reports, local criminal-history background checks and other routine criminal records. The Criminal Records number is 850-436-9501. Broader public-record requests are routed through the Sheriff’s Public Records Department.
6. Where do I request a Pensacola Police arrest report?
Use the City of Pensacola Police Public Records Request process. Pensacola Police records remain City records even when the arrested person is booked into the Escambia County Jail. The Pensacola Police Records Section lists 850-435-1915 as its main records number.
7. How do I search Escambia County criminal court records?
Use the Escambia County Clerk Courtview search. General public users can search by defendant name, Uniform Case Number, citation number or agency number. When using a Uniform Case Number, enter all spaces and zeroes in the required format.
8. How much does an Escambia County certified court record cost?
The Clerk currently lists court-record copies at $1 per page and certification at $2 per document plus copy fees. Postage is charged at actual cost when applicable, and Clerk credit-card transactions carry a published 3.5% surcharge.
9. How much does a Florida statewide criminal-history search cost?
FDLE currently lists a $24 fee for public Florida criminal-history requests. Use FDLE when you need statewide Florida history rather than only an Escambia County jail booking, arrest report or local court case.
10. Can an Escambia County arrest record be sealed or expunged?
Some Florida criminal-history records may qualify for court-ordered sealing or expungement. The process generally begins with an FDLE Certificate of Eligibility application, including a certified disposition and fingerprint card. FDLE currently lists a $75 application fee, and the Certificate alone does not seal or expunge the record; a court order is still required.
