Charges requiring Circuit Court bond action

Horry County states that Magistrate Court judges cannot set bond on murder, accessory-before-the-fact-of-murder or criminal-sexual-conduct-with-a-minor charges. The Solicitor schedules those hearings before a Circuit Court judge in General Sessions.

Horry County expungement eligibility and application path

Expungement removes an eligible arrest or conviction from the criminal-history record. It is not automatic merely because a charge was dismissed, not prosecuted or resolved by a not-guilty finding.

  • Most traffic convictions, except the limited first failure-to-stop category.
  • Convictions for felonies or heinous crimes, except a separately qualifying statutory category such as certain youthful-offender matters.

  • A record merely because the sentence has been completed.
