Boone County, Kentucky Arrest & Court Record Guide
Search Boone County Jail Bookings, Arrest Records and Criminal Cases
Use Boone County’s live inmate list to confirm current custody, then connect the booking to Kentucky District or Circuit Court records. If you need the actual arrest or offense report, request it from the law-enforcement agency that created the record—not from the jail roster or Circuit Court Clerk.
Boone County has an important local split: the elected Jailer operates the jail at 3020 Conrad Lane, the Sheriff’s Office is next door at 3000 Conrad Lane, and District and Circuit criminal cases are handled through the Boone County Justice Center on Rogers Lane. This page shows which office to use at each step.

Jail Record, Police Report and Court Case Serve Different Purposes
Boone County inmate record
Best for current custody, booking date and any scheduled-release information displayed by the county jail system.
Police or Sheriff arrest record
Best for the underlying incident or arrest report created by the arresting law-enforcement agency.
Kentucky court record
Best for filed charges, case number, arraignment, preliminary hearing, indictment, plea, dismissal, sentence and final disposition.
An arrest is not a conviction. The jail entry is a custody record. Charges can later be amended, dismissed, reduced or resolved differently in court.

Boone County Arrest Records Quick Navigation
How to Search the Boone County KY Jail Inmate List
Check the Inmate Status selector.
The default public view is labeled Current Inmates. Confirm the selected status before interpreting the results.
Enter the last name first.
Use only the surname when you are uncertain about the exact first or middle name.
Add first name only when necessary.
A narrow name search is useful when the surname returns many people.
Sort by Booking Date for recent arrests.
The county tool allows sorting by last name, first name, booking date or scheduled release date.
Open Display Detail.
Use the detailed inmate entry instead of relying only on the list row.
Record the booking date and any release information.
These fields help separate a current detention from an older event or similarly named person.
Move to the Kentucky court record.
Use the person and incident date to identify the corresponding District or Circuit criminal case.
Best search technique: Use as little name information as necessary to find a likely match, then verify the person from the detailed jail and court records.

No Boone County Inmate Result? Check These Five Possibilities
Very recent booking
The jail may still be completing intake and data entry.
Already released
Court or pretrial action may have resulted in release before you searched.
Different spelling
Try surname only, hyphen variations, middle-name removal or known legal aliases.
Different custody system
A sentenced offender may now appear in Kentucky DOC’s KOOL system rather than the county jail list.
Different county or federal hold
Verify where the person was booked and which agency currently has custody.
Retry the inmate search with fewer name fields.
A restrictive search can hide a valid match.
Call Boone County Jail.
Use
859-334-2143 for facility custody questions.

A court case may remain visible after release from jail.
Search KOOL.

Boone District Court vs Boone Circuit Court
District Court: first stop for many criminal cases
- Misdemeanors
- Violations
- Traffic offenses
- Arraignments
- Felony probable-cause / preliminary proceedings
- Juvenile matters under separate access rules
A jail booking involving a felony can therefore have an initial District Court case before a later Circuit Court criminal case exists.
Circuit Court: felony trial court
- Felony criminal prosecutions
- Capital offenses
- Grand-jury indictment cases
- Felony arraignments
- Felony pretrial conferences
- Sentencing and later felony docket activity
When a felony moves from District Court into Circuit Court, the same underlying incident can generate a separate case in each jurisdiction.
Do not count District and Circuit case numbers as two separate arrests automatically. Kentucky court analytics specifically note that the same felony incident can appear once in District Court and again as a separate Circuit case after indictment.
Boone County Criminal Court Schedule

Search Boone County Criminal Cases With Guest CourtNet
Accept the public-search terms.
The Kentucky Court of Justice provides free guest access to public case information throughout the Commonwealth.
Search the defendant carefully.
Use Boone County as the jurisdiction when the filing county is known.
Look for District and Circuit criminal cases.
A felony event can create an initial District case and a later Circuit Criminal case.
Compare case dates with the booking date.
This helps prevent matching an old case to a new jail admission.
Read the latest docket event.
Check for amendments, dismissal, indictment, plea, sentence or other final action.
Verify important information through the Circuit Court Clerk.
Guest CourtNet itself warns that online information can change or contain delay and should be cross-referenced with the official court record.
Use restriction: Kentucky’s Guest CourtNet page says its information cannot be used for employment, licensing or eligibility for government programs. Use the appropriate authorized criminal-record process for those purposes.

Boone County Justice Center
6025 Rogers Lane, Room 141
Burlington, KY 41005
Kentucky’s Circuit Court Clerks maintain official case records for Circuit, Family and District courts. The Administrative Office of the Courts is not the custodian of an individual Boone County case file.
Find the case number first.
Use Guest CourtNet when possible to reduce clerk research time.
Call or visit the Boone Circuit Court Clerk.
Ask whether the requested case file or document is available at the Justice Center.
Specify the document.
Ask for the citation, complaint, indictment, order, docket, judgment or other exact record rather than “everything.”
For older files, ask where the record is stored.
Kentucky explains that some older court files can be housed at a records facility or lawfully destroyed under retention schedules.
Visitor tip: The Justice Center lists free parking in front of the building and in the church parking lot behind the building and is listed as fully accessible.
Read the official Kentucky court-record request instructions.
Bond and Pretrial Release in Boone County
Kentucky does not use commercial bail bondsmen in the way many states do. Pretrial Services operates statewide and evaluates eligible arrested people for pretrial release.
ROR
Recognizance
Release based on the defendant’s promise to appear and comply with court conditions.
UNS
Unsecured
A monetary amount can be attached without requiring that amount to be posted up front.
3RD
Third-party surety
An approved third party signs responsibility under applicable release conditions.
$
Cash / financial
Some cases require financial bail as ordered by the court.
%
Partially secured
A percentage of the bail amount may be required when the judge selects this option.
Within 24 hours: Kentucky Pretrial Services says specialists interview and assess individuals arrested on bailable offenses and present information to a judge when immediate pre-arraignment release is not available.
Do not guess the bond from the charge alone. Call Boone County Jail at
859-334-2143 or the Circuit Court Clerk for current release/bond information connected with the actual case.
Read Kentucky Pretrial Services release guidance.
How to Request a Boone County Sheriff Arrest or Incident Report
Confirm that Boone County Sheriff created the record.
A booking at Boone County Jail does not necessarily mean the Sheriff was the arresting agency.
Read the current rules before completing the form.
The Sheriff provides its current Open Records Rules & Regulations with the fillable inspection application.
Identify the record narrowly.
Include legal name, incident date, approximate time/location, report number and type of record if known.
Ask for the actual report.
Specify arrest report, offense report, collision report or another identifiable existing record.
Expect lawful redactions.
Active investigations, victim information and other protected material can affect what is released.
“I am requesting the Boone County Sheriff record for an incident involving __________ on or about __________ at __________. The report or case number is __________ if available. I am seeking the existing arrest/offense report and any releasable attachments associated with that incident.”
Sheriff office: 3000 Conrad Lane, Burlington, KY 41005. Administrative hours are Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m.–12:00 noon.
Boone County arrests can begin with more than one agency
Where to Request the Report Based on the Arresting Agency
Boone County Sheriff
Use the Sheriff Open Records procedure for Sheriff-created reports.
Records:
859-334-2120
Florence Police Department
Florence directs requests for criminal offense reports to the Public Safety Communications Center at the Florence Government Center.
8100 Ewing Blvd.
Florence, KY 41042
859-647-5420
CVG Airport Police
An incident at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport can belong to the airport police rather than the Sheriff. CVG publishes an Open Records process for airport records.
Kentucky State Police
If KSP made the arrest or created the incident report, use the Kentucky State Police record process instead of Boone County Sheriff.
Other county / federal agency
A person can be housed in Boone County while another jurisdiction owns the underlying investigation.
Unsure who arrested the person?
Start with the detailed jail entry, charging paperwork or court record to identify the law-enforcement agency.
Florence-specific shortcut: the City of Florence says criminal offense reports can be obtained through its Public Safety Communications Center during published weekday hours; broader open-record requests can use the City Clerk’s online Open Records form.

Need a Kentucky Criminal History Instead of One Boone County Arrest?
The Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts offers criminal-record reports based on state court activity from all 120 Kentucky counties. This is different from searching Boone County Jail.
What the state report includes
Kentucky AOC says reports include misdemeanor and traffic cases for at least the last five years and felony records dating back to 1978.
What it does not include
Federal criminal information is not part of the Kentucky AOC report.
Confidential cases
Juvenile, mental-health and domestic-violence case types are among records excluded from the public criminal-record report.
Searching another person has a consequence: Kentucky AOC states that when a report is requested on another person and a record is found, the Records Unit will notify that individual and send them a copy of the report results.
The report is not the official court record. Kentucky identifies the county Circuit Court Clerk as the custodian of the actual case file.
Open Kentucky Court of Justice criminal-record reports.
Use Kentucky Offender Online Lookup After Jail or Sentencing
KOOL—the Kentucky Offender Online Lookup—is maintained by the Department of Corrections and is useful when the person has entered the state correctional or supervision system.
Start with minimal name information.
KOOL itself recommends entering as little information as needed to get a match.
Use aliases when appropriate.
The search includes an option to search aliases.
Use advanced filters only after broad search.
Filters include DOC/PID number, supervision status, location, county of supervision, conviction county and offense categories.
Do not treat KOOL offense categories as the exact criminal charge.
Kentucky warns that displayed offense categories may be generalized categories used to aid searching.
Fresh-data caution: Kentucky DOC states that offender data newer than 120 days may not yet be finalized.
Track Release or Transfer With Kentucky VINE
Kentucky Department of Corrections identifies VINE as the automated victim-notification system covering custody events from county jails, prisons, mental-health facilities and juvenile detention centers.
Release alert
Receive notification when a registered offender is released from qualifying custody.
Transfer / escape alert
VINE can notify users of qualifying transfer or escape events.
Parole-hearing alert
Notifications can include upcoming parole-hearing information.

Important office distinction: Kentucky uses an elected county Jailer. The Boone County Jailer is responsible for jail operations; the Boone County Sheriff is a separate elected law-enforcement office.
Do not call the Sheriff tax or civil-process line for routine inmate custody questions. Use the jail’s main line or inmate search first.
Visitation, Phone, Money and Mail: Verify Before Paying a Provider
Third-party inmate-service providers and facility schedules can change. Boone County’s current public inmate tool is reliable for custody verification, but family-service details should be confirmed directly with the jail before creating or funding an account.
- Confirm the inmate is still housed at Boone County Jail
- Use the exact legal name from the county inmate record
- Call 859-334-2143 for the current visitation procedure
- Ask whether on-site and remote visitation are currently offered
- Confirm the current phone provider before buying phone credits
- Confirm the current commissary/deposit provider before sending money
- Ask for the current inmate-mail format before mailing photographs or publications
- Keep transaction confirmations and receipts
Do not rely on an old jail-service directory for current pricing. Provider names, rates, visit windows and mail-screening systems can change without matching updates on third-party websites.

Boone County Search Scenarios
Florence arrest last night
Search the Boone jail list first, then check the arresting agency. If Florence Police made the arrest, obtain the criminal offense report through Florence rather than the Sheriff.
Felony arrest in Burlington
Check the initial District case and then watch for a later Circuit Criminal filing after grand-jury action.
Person no longer on current inmates
Search Guest CourtNet, KOOL and VINE instead of assuming the arrest never happened.
Family needs bond information
Call the jail and review the court/pretrial release decision. Kentucky does not use ordinary commercial bail bondsmen.
Arrest happened at CVG
Identify whether CVG Airport Police or another federal/state agency created the report, then use that custodian’s public-record process.
Employer asks for criminal history
Do not use Guest CourtNet as an employment screening product. Use the legally appropriate background-check process.
Old Boone County criminal case
Contact the Circuit Court Clerk if the file predates convenient online access or has moved to a records facility.
State-sentenced offender
Move from the county jail search to KOOL when the person has entered Kentucky DOC custody or supervision.
