Find the Right Oklahoma Criminal Record Without Confusing Arrest, Jail and Court Data
Oklahoma does not use one public portal for every criminal-record task. OSBI maintains the statewide fingerprint-based criminal-history repository, county detention centres control recent jail bookings, court clerks maintain case files, and the Department of Corrections publishes state-offender information.
This guide explains exactly which system to use, what each search costs, which identifiers improve matching, what information can be missing, how to read a RAP sheet, how to verify a court outcome, and how to correct or expunge an eligible record.
$15 through OSBI CHIRP.
$19; mail or in-person submission.
$2 sex-offender and $2 violent-offender search.
One $1 CHIRP transaction fee.
State sources checked July 2026.
Choose the Oklahoma record that answers your exact question
Search the detention-centre or sheriff roster in the county where the arrest occurred. A new arrestee may appear there before an OSBI result or court filing is complete.
Request a name-based search of OSBI’s Computerized Criminal History database using the person’s full name and date of birth.
Search the district-court docket for filed charges, motions, hearings, judgment, sentence and final disposition.
Use the Department of Corrections Offender Lookup for publicly available state prison, community-corrections, probation and parole information.
How to locate someone arrested in Oklahoma today
OSBI CHIRP is a criminal-history service, not a live statewide jail roster. When the arrest happened recently, begin with the county or municipal detention system that received the person.

What an OSBI criminal-history result includes—and what it can miss
| Record category | Usually included? | Reason or limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Reported Oklahoma felony arrest with usable fingerprints | Generally yes | OSBI builds its record from fingerprint-supported criminal-justice reporting. |
| Reported serious-misdemeanour arrest with usable fingerprints | Generally yes | The reporting and fingerprint record must reach the state repository. |
| Final court disposition | When reported | The result can remain incomplete when OSBI did not receive the disposition. |
| Unreported arrest | No | OSBI cannot display information it did not receive. |
| Arrest without fingerprints | May be absent | OSBI’s state criminal-history repository is fingerprint based. |
| Poor-quality fingerprint submission | May be absent | Unusable prints cannot support positive record identification. |
| Another state’s criminal record | No | The ordinary public OSBI search is Oklahoma only. |
| Driving record | No | OSBI does not provide driving records through this service. |
| Ordinary juvenile case | Generally no | OSBI states that juvenile criminal history is not maintained unless the juvenile was certified as an adult. |
| County jail status | Not a live custody service | Use the county jail roster for present detention. |
How to read an Oklahoma RAP sheet without mislabeling the person
A RAP sheet is a Record of Arrest and Prosecution. It can contain arrest-stage allegations and later court outcomes within the same record.
| Field | What it means | What to verify next |
|---|---|---|
| Subject identifiers | Name, aliases, birth date, sex, race and other identity data used for matching. | Confirm that the identifiers belong to the intended person. |
| Arresting agency | The police, sheriff or other agency that submitted the arrest information. | Request the incident report from that agency when needed. |
| Arrest date | The date connected with the custody event. | Compare it with the court-filing date and known incident. |
| Arrest charge | The offence identified by the arresting agency on the fingerprint card. | Do not treat it as the final filed charge. |
| Severity | The alleged offence level at arrest, such as felony or misdemeanour. | A felony label at arrest does not by itself prove a felony conviction. |
| Prosecutor charge | The offence formally filed after review. | Read the corresponding district-court docket. |
| Disposition | The outcome reported for a charge or case. | Obtain the certified final disposition when the result will be used formally. |
| Sentence | The punishment, supervision or court terms reported after judgment. | Review the judgment and sentence filed with the court clerk. |
| No disposition shown | OSBI may not have received the final court outcome. | Obtain a certified disposition and submit an OSBI update request. |
How to search OSCN and non-OSCN criminal cases
The Oklahoma State Courts Network is the central starting point. Its docket page provides an OSCN search, a case-number lookup, district-court reports and a link to On Demand Court Records for participating non-OSCN counties.
Common Oklahoma court terms explained
| Term | Plain-language meaning | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | The case has not reached a final outcome. | Review the next hearing and latest filing. |
| Information filed | The prosecutor filed formal allegations. | Compare each filed count with the original arrest charge. |
| Dismissed | The court or prosecutor ended the listed charge without a judgment of conviction. | Confirm whether every count was dismissed. |
| Acquitted or not guilty | The person was not found guilty of the resolved charge. | Determine whether another count remained. |
| Deferred sentence | Sentencing is delayed while the defendant completes ordered conditions. | A successful deferred sentence can be dismissed, but the arrest is not automatically removed. |
| Suspended sentence | A conviction was entered, but some or all incarceration was suspended while the person remained under supervision. | Read the judgment and sentence for the exact terms. |
| Accelerated | The court took action after an alleged deferred-sentence violation and may proceed to sentencing. | Review the acceleration application, hearing and resulting order. |
| Revoked | The court revoked some or all of a suspended sentence or supervision arrangement. | Read the revocation order and amended custody terms. |
| Closed | The case is no longer treated as active. | Closed alone does not explain whether it ended by dismissal, plea or judgment. |
When to use the Oklahoma DOC Offender Lookup
Search for people who have entered Oklahoma Department of Corrections custody.
Public records may identify an offender assigned to a community-corrections setting.
ODOC information can help identify publicly available state-supervision status.
| Question | County jail roster | ODOC Offender Lookup |
|---|---|---|
| Arrest happened today | Use this first. | Usually too early for state-custody information. |
| Awaiting local court | Usually the relevant custody record. | Not generally the controlling system. |
| Sentenced to state prison | May show the person while awaiting transfer. | Use after the person enters state custody. |
| On state probation or parole | Does not provide statewide supervision history. | The appropriate state source. |
| Need final court judgment | Not the official court record. | Sentence information may appear, but obtain the judgment from the court clerk. |
Sex offender, violent offender and fugitive searches
ODOC maintains Oklahoma’s Sex Offender Registry. Direct public searching is available without paying OSBI for a registry result.
ODOC also maintains the violent-offender registry. CHIRP can request either registry for $2 per search.
The DOC fugitive list concerns wanted offenders connected with Corrections and is not a statewide list of every county or municipal warrant.

How to request the police or sheriff arrest report
CHIRP provides criminal-history information, not the complete incident narrative. Request the arrest report and related records from the agency whose officer or deputy created them.
Identify the documents you actually need
The primary record describing the reported event and initial law-enforcement response.
The releasable record describing the asserted basis for taking the person into custody.
A later officer or investigator report. Active or confidential details may be withheld.
The jail record containing booking identifiers and custody-processing information.
Identify the event, date, time and location precisely because media can require review and redaction.
A document relating to property collected, stored or released, subject to legal restrictions.
Details that make the request processable
How to update an incomplete or inaccurate Oklahoma criminal history
| Problem | Office to contact | Document or proof needed |
|---|---|---|
| Incorrect arrest charge | Arresting police or sheriff agency | Report number, fingerprint-card information and proof of the specific error. |
| Court case outcome missing from OSCN or ODCR | Court clerk in the filing county | Case number and the filed judgment, dismissal or order. |
| OSBI result has no final disposition | OSBI Disposition Services Unit | Certified final disposition from the court clerk. |
| Completed deferred sentence still shows the old plea | Court clerk, then OSBI | Certified deferred-dismissal order. |
| Charges were never filed | Court or prosecuting authority, then OSBI | Certified documentation showing the decision not to file. |
| The entire record belongs to someone else | OSBI Criminal History Management | Government ID, fingerprints and identity-dispute information. |

Section 18, Section 991c and Clean Slate expungements
Can seal an eligible arrest record, including the court and agency records covered by the order.
Can remove the plea after successful completion of a deferred sentence and update the case to show dismissal, but it does not remove the arrest.
Oklahoma is implementing a state-initiated process for records that fit designated eligibility categories. Do not assume that every eligible-looking record has already been automatically sealed.
| Question | Section 18 | Section 991c |
|---|---|---|
| Primary purpose | Seal an eligible arrest record. | Expunge the plea following successful deferred-sentence completion. |
| Arrest removed from public access | Potentially yes when the order covers it. | No; the arrest remains part of the criminal history. |
| Resulting disposition | Covered records are sealed as ordered. | The record is updated to “Pled Not Guilty, Case Dismissed.” |
| Eligibility | Must fit a category listed in Title 22, Section 18. | Requires successful completion of a qualifying deferred sentence. |
| OSBI arrest-record fee | $150 after the certified order is received. | Confirm processing requirements for the specific order. |
Published OSBI expungement costs and timing
OSBI states that expunging the court record is free.
$150 processing fee.
Additional charges may apply.
Cashier’s check or money order.
About one month after the certified order and fee arrive.
Information OSBI needs with the petition or order
expungements@osbi.ok.gov
cleanslate@osbi.ok.gov
Do not treat one search as a complete screening decision
Match the date of birth, aliases and other identifiers rather than relying on a name alone.
Check the court record before describing an arrest as a conviction.
An ordinary OSBI result does not include another state, every misdemeanour or a driving record.
Obtain a certified disposition when the outcome affects a formal decision.
An incomplete OSBI result may need a certified court update before it is accurately interpreted.
Do not use a private cached page to bypass a lawful expungement or confidentiality order.
ODOC release, parole and victim-service contacts
ODOC directs victims concerned about release to Victim Services at 405-425-2607 or victim.services@doc.ok.gov.
The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board is separate from ODOC and can be contacted at 405-521-6600.
Contact the inmate’s case manager or facility records officer for appropriate routing.

Oklahoma arrest and criminal-record questions answered
How do I search statewide Oklahoma arrest records?
Use OSBI CHIRP for a name-based statewide Oklahoma criminal-history search. Enter the full legal name and date of birth and add aliases or optional identifiers when accurately known.
How do I find someone arrested today?
Search the detention-centre roster in the county where the arrest occurred. CHIRP is not a live statewide jail roster, and a new arrest may appear first in county custody records.
How much is an Oklahoma background check?
An OSBI name-based search costs $15. CHIRP adds one $1 transaction fee for a credit-card or electronic-funds-transfer transaction. A fingerprint-based Oklahoma search costs $19.
What information is required for CHIRP?
The full first and last name and date of birth are mandatory. Up to three aliases can be included without another criminal-history search charge.
Does OSBI include every misdemeanour?
No. OSBI describes its public results as fingerprint-based arrest and conviction data for serious misdemeanours and felonies reported from Oklahoma.
How can I see the final outcome of an arrest?
Search OSCN or the participating non-OSCN court system and locate the filed charge, dismissal, deferred dismissal, judgment or sentence. Obtain a certified disposition for formal use.
Why is a dismissed arrest still on my OSBI record?
OSBI maintains records of arrest, not only convictions. A dismissal can be added as the disposition, but the arrest remains unless it qualifies for and receives a Section 18 expungement.
How do I add a missing disposition?
Obtain a certified final disposition from the court clerk in the county of arrest and send it to the OSBI Disposition Services Unit at 6600 North Harvey Place, Oklahoma City, OK 73116.
How much does an Oklahoma expungement cost?
OSBI charges $150 to process an arrest-record expungement after receiving the certified court order. Local agencies may impose additional processing charges.
Does a 991c expungement remove the arrest?
No. It can remove the plea and update a successfully completed deferred case to “Pled Not Guilty, Case Dismissed,” but the arrest remains unless separately expunged under an eligible Section 18 process.
