A Seminole County arrest can create several separate records. The John E. Polk Correctional Facility maintains booking and custody information, the arresting agency maintains the incident report, and the Clerk maintains the filed criminal case.
This guide explains the county’s search fields, daily booking reports, report-request fees, bond procedures, release delays, jail services, court-document costs and record-correction options. Readers should leave this page only to perform a live search, submit a request, make an approved payment or order a document.
An arrest is not a conviction. The Sheriff’s custody portal expressly warns that it provides arrest and booking information only. It may not reflect charging decisions made by the State Attorney or the outcome of a criminal case.

Are old mugshots available?

Does a zero-dollar bond mean release?
Not always. The portal states that $0 may mean no bond is due, the person was released or the person was sentenced.
What makes a person non-bondable?
The portal states that the person is not bondable when any single charge is listed as “no bond.”
Who holds an arrest report?
The arresting Sheriff or municipal police department holds its own law-enforcement report.
Who holds the final disposition?
The Seminole County Clerk maintains the criminal court docket and certified court documents.
Can an open report be withheld?
Yes. An open report or one involving a requested capias may be unavailable until the case is closed or disposed.
Can an incorrect record be challenged?

How to search Seminole County current and released inmates
The Sheriff’s custody portal supports searches using last name, first name, middle name, age, race, gender, booking number and a current-or-released search criterion.
Choose current or released inmates
Use current inmates when you believe the person remains at John E. Polk. Use released inmates when the record appeared earlier, the arrest is older or release has already occurred.
Search the last name alone first
Leave the other fields blank. A broad search avoids excluding a valid record because of a middle-name, age, suffix or spelling difference.
Add the first name only if necessary
When many records share the surname, add the legal first name. Try a shortened name, maiden name, former surname or hyphen variation when needed.
Use age carefully
Age can change after a birthday and may have been calculated at a different point in the custody process. Avoid using age as the only search field.
Use the booking number when available
A booking number is the strongest portal search identifier and is also important for mail, deposits, calls and questions to jail staff.
Open each plausible result
Compare full name, middle name, age, gender, race, booking number, booking date, arresting agency and charges.
Review every charge separately
One booking can contain multiple charges, bonds or holds. A payable bond on one charge does not make the entire booking releasable.
Save the identifiers before leaving
Record the name exactly as shown, booking number, arresting agency, arrest date, charge descriptions, bond entries and court case numbers.
How the Seminole County Daily Booking Report works
The Sheriff produces a Daily Booking Report each weekday. It covers people arrested and booked into John E. Polk since midnight on the preceding business day and overnight.
Publication time
The Sheriff states that the report is uploaded on weekdays at approximately 8 a.m.
Monday coverage
Monday’s report includes arrest information from the weekend rather than only Sunday night.

Use at least two independent identifiers. Never send money, notify an employer, publish an accusation or make a safety decision from a matching name or photograph alone.

What happens at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility?
John E. Polk is an adult detention facility with a published design capacity of 1,396. The Sheriff states that it typically processes more than 20,000 bookings per year.
Pretrial custody
The facility houses people awaiting felony and misdemeanor proceedings.
Sentenced custody
It houses sentenced misdemeanor inmates and convicted felony inmates awaiting transfer to state facilities.
Federal custody
The Sheriff states that federal inmates awaiting trial in U.S. courts may also be held there.

When a report may not be immediately available
- The report remains open or a capias has been requested.
- The requester is not the victim or a properly identified victim representative.
- The case involves a major-crime investigation that remains protected.
- Victim, witness, juvenile, medical or confidential information must be redacted.
- Audio or video requires staff review and redaction.
- The report was created by a municipal police department rather than the Sheriff.
Open-case rule: The Sheriff states that when a report is open or a capias has been requested, it generally will not be available to anyone except the victim or the victim’s written representative until disposition or closure. Some major-crime reports may remain unavailable even to the victim.

Video-deposit deadline: The Sheriff states that a video request may be treated as withdrawn when the required deposit is not received within 30 days. Unused deposit funds are refunded after fulfilment.

Which agency should receive the police-report request?
Booking into the county jail does not make the Sheriff the custodian of every arrest report. The report remains with the law-enforcement agency whose officer or deputy created it.

How to find the filed charge and final court outcome
The Clerk’s public records menu includes criminal cases, court events and a pretrial-release register. When a record is not available online, the Clerk directs criminal-record questions to criminal@seminoleclerk.org.
Search by case number first
A case number is more accurate than a name and reduces the chance of combining records belonging to different people.
Use a broad name search when no case number exists
Begin with the last and first name. Narrow the results only after reviewing possible matches.
Confirm the criminal case type
Check whether the file is felony, misdemeanor, criminal traffic or another proceeding.
Find the formal charge document
Locate the information, complaint or other filing that identifies what was presented to the court.
Look for amended filings
The prosecutor can add, reduce, replace or reorganise charges after the original booking.
Read the docket in date order
Review hearings, continuances, warrants, motions, orders, plea entries and trial events.
Locate the final disposition
Find the dismissal, nolle prosequi, judgment, verdict, plea or sentencing document rather than relying only on a “closed” label.
Order a certified document for formal use
A screenshot may not satisfy a court, licensing agency, employer, immigration process or other requesting institution.

Court issues the release decision
A verbal announcement in court does not begin jail release until the required paperwork reaches the booking department.

Every case and hold is checked
Staff must confirm that no other charge, warrant, sentence or agency hold prevents release.
Property and account processing occurs
Release processing can include identity verification, paperwork and return of authorised property.
The person physically exits
Do not travel for pickup solely because the portal shows a release-related status.
End-of-sentence releases: The Sheriff states that inmates released because they reached the end of sentence generally begin exiting shortly after 8 a.m., although exceptional circumstances can cause delay.

Deposits are not returned. The Sheriff states that once funds are deposited into an inmate account, they will not be refunded. Funds may be released only to an attorney or bail agent for posting bond.

Addressing rule: Print the inmate’s full name and booking number clearly on the outside of the envelope or postcard so the correspondence can be assigned to the correct account.
What not to send
Packages and books
The facility states that packages and books are not accepted, including items sent by publishers, Amazon, USPS or another delivery service.
Food and personal supplies
Do not send food, candy, care packages, clothing, hygiene items, medication, envelopes, stamps or writing paper.
Decorated or electronic items
Do not send electronic cards, glitter, stickers, Polaroid photographs or other prohibited material.
Magazine exception: The Sheriff’s published rule states that magazine subscriptions may continue when the publications meet facility decency standards.
Clothing and hygiene
- Inmates receive facility clothing during incarceration.
- After classification, the facility provides a comb, toothbrush, soap and toothpaste.
- Female inmates have access to feminine hygiene products.
- Some hygiene products and writing materials are provided to indigent inmates.

Expiration and revocation: The Sheriff’s form states that an authorisation expires one year after signing unless another expiration date or event is entered. It may be revoked in writing except for action already taken in reliance on it.
Reporting sexual abuse or harassment in custody
The Seminole County Sheriff maintains a zero-tolerance policy for sexual abuse and sexual harassment in its correctional facilities. Allegations that may constitute a crime are referred for investigation and possible prosecution.

How do I search Seminole County arrest records?
Use the Sheriff custody portal. Select current or released inmates and search by last name, first name, age, race, gender, middle name or booking number. Begin with fewer fields.
Where can I see the newest Seminole County arrests?
The weekday Daily Booking Report is uploaded at approximately 8 a.m. and includes charges and the arresting agency. Monday’s report includes weekend bookings.
What does a zero-dollar bond mean?
The custody portal states that $0 may mean no bond is due, the inmate has been released or the inmate has been sentenced. Confirm custody before interpreting it.
Can I request a released inmate’s booking photo?
Yes. Current photos may appear in the custody portal. The Sheriff directs requests for booking photos of people no longer held to its Public Information Unit.
How do I request the actual arrest report?
Request it from the arresting agency. For Sheriff arrests, contact the Records Section at 407-665-6690 or records@seminolesheriff.org. City police reports must be requested from that city.
How do I find whether a charge was dismissed?
Search the Seminole County Clerk criminal docket and locate the dismissal, nolle prosequi, judgment, verdict or other final disposition. Do not rely on the original booking charge.
How can I post a Seminole County bond?
Use cash, an approved card transaction or a registered surety agent. GovPayNow card payments are limited to $2,500 per charge, require code A001X0 and include a nonrefundable service fee.
How do on-site jail visits work?
Schedule through Smart Jail Mail at least 24 hours ahead. Arrive 30 minutes early with government photo ID. On-site visits are free, last 30 minutes and are limited to four per week.
